It would be my honor to serve as a Representative to the APA Council for the Society for Health Psychology (SfHP). I would steadfastly serve as an advocate for SfHP. I have been active in SfHP since 2015, and I am currently serving SfHP in roles as Program Chair for the 2020 APA Convention, on the Early Career Psychologist (ECP) Council, and on The Health Psychologist Publication Committee. Regarding the Early Career Psychologist Column, I have striven to highlight ECPs who are not yet widely known in SfHP to promote their voices and increase their engagement in our professional community.
I am an assistant professor in Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center’s Family and Community Medicine Department, and serve as the behavioral health faculty in the Family Medicine Residency and Sports Medicine Postdoctoral Fellowship. I currently serve on the APA Membership Board (2019-2021), the Pennsylvania Psychological Association’s (PPA) Integrated Care Committee (chair), Early Career Psychologist Committee, Membership Committee, and the Emerging Leaders Program Team (director). I am also the ECP Member at Large for the American Academy of Clinical Health Psychology Board. I am part of the inaugural cohort of the APA Leadership Development Fellowship, and have completed the STFM Behavioral Science/Family Systems Educator Fellowship. I served on the APA Committee on Early Career Psychologists from 2015-2017, including one year as chair.
Through my selection SfHP would continue to demonstrate leadership in the promotion and development of ECPs in governance. Thank you for your time and consideration.
