Richard J. Seime, PhD, ABPP
I am a proud founding member and Fellow of Division 38. I have been involved with clinical health psychology across multiple domains including education and training, clinical practice, scholarship administration, and professional leadership positions. My career spans nearly 25 years at WVU School of Medicine in Morgantown and 15 years at Mayo Clinic in various Departmental leadership roles. I am an Emeritus Consultant Mayo Clinic, Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, and Emeritus Associate Professor of Psychology, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. I represent Clinical Health Psychology on the CoS and coordinated the finalization of the E & T taxonomy by the Council of Clinical Health Training Programs. I served 5 years on CoA including 2 years as Chair. Other professional leadership has included: former president West Virginia Psychological Association, past Secretary WV Board of Examiners of Psychologists, former president Association of Psychologists in Academic Health Centers, and Past president of American Board of Clinical Health Psychology. I bring a broad knowledge and perspective about issues facing psychology in the 21st century, especially in the areas of health service psychology, integrated care, and specialty care. I welcome the opportunity to serve on the Council of Representatives as an advocate and collaborative voice for SfHP and its members. This is an “interesting time” (Norwegian heritage way of saying we are experiencing major challenges) and I look to our talented leadership and members to take the lead in finding solutions.
