Division 38 Local Networking Events: Coming to a City Near You

Zeeshan Butt, PhD

Interested in meeting other health psychologists in your area?

Over the past few years, Division 38 has been supporting networking/happy hour events in metropolitan areas across the United States. Initially, these started out as ways to connect early career health psychologists; however, they quickly expanded to include anyone interested in health psychology.

So far, these events have taken place in Ann Arbor, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, New York, and Portland, with some cities hosting regular happy hours. Typically, these events have included between 20 to 50 individuals from diverse settings, including universities, academic health centers, VAs, and private practice. While one goal of these events is to increase awareness of the benefits of Division 38 membership, they are also a wonderful way for health psychologists in an area to get to know one another.
